Service Projects

Our club members are involved in a number of smaller service projects throughout the year.  Some of these are annual, and some fill a one-time need.

A Character Education and Recognition program for Grammar School students.

Throughout the year, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth grade students and their parents are recognised for Outstanding and Improved Character and feted at a Special Luncheon Meeting.

Scholarship Awards - we award scholarships annually to local high school students.

Prayer Breakfast - YMCA - Our club is one of the annual sponsors of the multi-denominational Prayer Breakfast for our local community held at the YMCA of the Foothills.

Christmas Adopt-A-Family Toy Drive - Our warm-hearted club members donate money to help families in crisis during the Holiday Season.  Working with Foothill Family Service in Pasadena to identify families in need, our La Cañada Kiwanis Club sponsored four Foothill families, providing them with a wonderful Christmas - from food to clothes to gifts.

Club member volunteers and our La Cañada High School Key Club members and our Middle School Builders' Clubbers joined hands to buy grocery cards, clothes and gifts from the childrens' Wish Lists, then wrapped and delivered them to families who otherwise would not have been able to celebrate the holidays.

Feed the Floaters - We make an annual event out of feeding the volunteers who build our local La Cañada Float for the Tournament of Roses Parade

Clergy Recognition Day -  a special Luncheon meeting honoring the clergy of our area.

Apple For the Teachers - a Luncheon in August to welcome new teachers in our school system to the community.

Sheriff's STAR Drug Awareness Program - Our club, along with the city of La Cañada Flindridge, funds the Sheriff's Drug Education Program, teaching students in grades 4 -6 about drugs and ways to resist peer pressure and say no to drugs.
