First Corporate Member Welcomed
May 2015 - Jeff Davis, our first new Corporate Member from the La Cañada Unified School District, came to the May 25 meeting to introduce himself to Kiwanis. Longtime club member Wendy Sinnette, Superintendant of LC Unified, requested the change to corporate status, as her duties require her to miss so many meetings. The Corporate Status will allow the District to send several different members to represent them, as their duties allow.
Jeff said he and his colleagues at the School District were very excited to be Corporate members of the Kiwanis Club of La Cañada. He thanked our Kiwanis club for giving the annual “Apple for the Teacher” luncheon introducing new teachers to the community, which kicks off every school year. He said the new membership status was a great way for both the School District and Kiwanis to stay connected. Jeff said he spoke on behalf of Wendy Sinnette and the governing board of the LC School District and was looking forward to working with us.
